Pettit EZ-TEX Rapid Cure Epoxy Repair
Pettit EZ-TEX Rapid Cure is an easy to use marine epoxy compound for use when a high-strength, waterproof, permanent repair is needed. Ideal for quick mechanical repairs dockside or at sea, this unique formula creates a tenacious bond to most surfaces. Its buttery consistency will not sag or shrink and is excellent for filling cracks, gouges, and voids. EZ-Tex can be used to fill stripped screw holes and areas where hardware has been pulled out or removed. Additionally, this repair compound can also be used to fill non-structural cracks in fiberglass, wood, and other materials.
Pettit EZ-Tex Rapid Cure has a 1:1 ratio that makes mixing easy. This formula cures rapidly and can be sanded, drilled, tapped, and painted once fully cured.

How to Use Pettit EZ-Tex Rapid Cure Epoxy Repair
Mixing:
Stir Part A and B components thoroughly to achieve uniform consistency before mixing. EZ-Tex Rapid Cure is designed to be mixed 1 to 1 by volume. Mix equal amounts of Part A and Part B until the mixture is a uniform gray color. Streaks of color indicate insufficient mixing.
Application:
Once mixed, spread EZ-Tex Rapid Cure onto the surface with a putty knife or spatula. Remove excess product before it cures to minimize sanding.
Bonding to Aluminum, Steel, Iron, Bronze, and Other Metals:
- Wipe the surface clean with cotton rags moistened with 120 or 120VOC Brushing Thinner.
- While surface is still wet with solvent, wipe dry with a second clean rag.
- Sand surface to bright metal then brush off sanding residue.
- Apply EZ-Tex Rapid Cure with a putty knife, spatula, or squeegee.
- Allow to cure hard then sand until smooth.
Bonding to Fiberglass and Gelcoat:
- Sand repair areas thoroughly with 80-grit sandpaper.
- Wash surface with Pettit 120 or 120VOC Brushing Thinner. Let dry.
- Apply EZ-Tex Rapid Cure with a putty knife, spatula, or squeegee.
- Allow to cure hard then sand until smooth.
Bonding to Wood:
- Thoroughly clean bare wood by wiping with a rag dampened with Pettit 120 or 120VOC Brushing Thinner.
- Sand with 80-grit sandpaper then remove sanding residue.
- Apply EZ-Tex Rapid Cure with a putty knife, spatula, or squeegee.
- Allow to cure hard then sand until smooth.
